Disk Phoenix
Open, rescue and repair classic Macintosh disk images and the files inside them, on modern macOS.

Disk Phoenix reads the disks of the classic Mac era: floppies, hard disk images, CD-ROMs and the archives found on them. It lets you browse them like a Finder window, check and repair damaged volumes, and export documents into formats modern applications open.
It’s for anyone with a shoebox of old disks, a folder of downloaded images, or a project last saved in 1994, and for archivists who need a file out byte for byte.
Disk Phoenix is in development. It’s being built now and hasn’t been released.
Designed to handle
- MFS, HFS and HFS+ volumes
- Disk Copy 4.2, NDIF, DART, raw and partitioned images
- Flux images (.scp, .moof; Applesauce and Greaseweazle captures) and USB floppy drives
- StuffIt, Compact Pro, Installer VISE and other archives
- Resource forks and compressed resources
- Classic documents, pictures, sounds and QuickTime movies, exported to modern formats

Planned for the Mac App Store. It’s built to run sandboxed, on public APIs.
