The Phoenix apps

In design

PhoenixShare

A hardened AppleShare file server that classic Macs can reach across the internet.

PhoenixShare is designed as a full AppleShare-style server, modelled on AppleShare IP 6.x: users and groups, share points, drop boxes and server messages. Classic Macs from System 6 to Mac OS 9 will be able to mount it, and hardening it for the public internet is a design goal from the start.

It’s for collectors and clubs who want a shared classic file server they can expose with care.

PhoenixShare is in design. It’s at the design stage: no app has been built yet.

Designed to handle

  • AFP over AppleTalk and TCP, for classic and modern AFP clients
