PhoenixWrite
Designed to open classic word-processor documents, as printed or as on screen.
One of the Phoenix readers: modern Mac apps designed to open classic documents as the original application showed them on screen or printed them, and to export them for modern apps. Their reading and rendering code is being built as shared kits, much of it already used by Disk Phoenix.
Designed to open: MacWrite, Microsoft Word 1–6 and 98, WriteNow, Nisus, Z-Write, Works, ClarisWorks and TeachText/SimpleText.
PhoenixWrite is in design. It’s at the design stage: no app has been built yet.
Distribution
Planned for the Mac App Store. The readers are designed to run sandboxed.
